B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical and Electrical engineering. PMP/PG in Project Management is preferred.

Experience

15 – 20 years of experience in MEP Design Review and Data Centre infrastructure.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of data centre projects from design and engineering through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover, ensuring timely completion within approved cost, quality, safety and performance requirements.
  • Provide overall project leadership with a strong MEP focus, coordinating Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Extra Low Voltage (ELV), Building Management System (BMS) / Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) and other critical data centre infrastructure systems.
  • Manage EPC/MEP contractors, consultants, OEMs, technology providers, vendors and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and coordinate MEP design and engineering deliverables, including electrical load schedules, single-line diagrams, HVAC designs, chilled-water systems, plumbing, fire protection, equipment layouts, schematics and coordination drawings.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary MEP interfaces with Civil, Structural, Architectural, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Extra Low Voltage (ELV), Security and other project disciplines to ensure constructability and clash-free execution.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6/MS Project, with particular focus on critical MEP equipment, long-lead items, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Manage procurement and expediting of critical MEP equipment, including transformers, High Tension (HT) /  Low Tension (LT) switchgear, DG sets, UPS, batteries, Power Distribution Unit (PDU), chillers, cooling towers,  Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) / Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) units, pumps, fire protection systems and associated equipment.
  • Oversee MEP construction and installation activities, ensuring adequate manpower, materials, equipment and resources are deployed to achieve project milestones.
  • Lead MEP technical risk identification and mitigation, covering electrical reliability, cooling capacity, redundancy, maintainability, equipment availability, interfaces and commissioning risks.
  • Ensure implementation of data centre redundancy and reliability requirements for critical MEP systems in accordance with the approved project design and performance requirements.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly project review meetings with MEP contractors, consultants, OEMs, vendors and client representatives.
  • Review commissioning procedures, test reports, performance test results, punch lists and system acceptance documentation.

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale data centre EPC/EPCM projects from design and engineering through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

  • Excellent risk management, cost control, problem-solving and decision-making capability, particularly for critical MEP systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to identify project bottlenecks, implement recovery measures and drive timely project completion.
