Experience

5 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in inspection and QA/QC activities. 

Additional Qualification

  • Level II, NDT qualification (RT, PT, UT and MT) is a must.
  • CSWIP 3.1 is a must.

Job Responsibility

Inspection/Quality Surveillance of site construction, shop fabrication, testing in crude oil, gas refinery sector, petrochemical, and chemicals industry, or power sector of static equipments like pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, other equipment, storage tanks, line pipes, plant piping, structures, materials, and NDT.

Attributes

  • NDT - ASNT / ISNT - LEVEL II / III (UT/RT/MT/PT/VT/LT/ET) with valid certificates.
  • Excellent inspection skills; good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, equipment, heat exchangers, and boilers. Should be familiar with manufacturing processes related to fabrication, welding control, heat treatment, inspection, testing, preservation, and packing as well as the operation and maintenance of boilers.
  • Knowledge in the following is a must:

    1. Welding procedures and welder qualifications - WPS/ PQR/ WPQ

    2. Plates, Piping Components / Fittings, Flanges, Pipes, Tubes, Welded Pipes, Fasteners, Gaskets; fully conversant with materials and material testing.

    3. Valves, Castings, Forgings – API / ASTM standards

    4. Structural Fabrication & Erection (AWS D1.1)

    5. Piping Fabrication and NDT (B 31.3)

    6. Storage tanks (API 650); Cryogenic storage tanks (API 620)

  • Sound knowledge of national/ international standards and codes such as IS, ASTM, ASME SECTIONS – II, VIII Div.1, IX, V, API, EN, BS, DIN, and AD 2000.
  • Experience working with a Third-Party Inspection Agency will be an added advantage.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, materials, metrology, defects, and inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards i.e. ASME, AWS, ISO & BS standards.
  • Hands-on site experience that enhances judgment and decision-making during inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Report writing.
  • Clear reporting and presentation skills.
