Qualification

Bachelor of Commerce / Business Administration with experience in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Operations Management or related field. 

Additional Qualification

Candidates with MBA in Supply Chain Management / Operational Management will have an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant industry experience

Job Responsibility

  1. Logistics Operations
    ­ Manage end-to-end logistics processes for food sample collection and transportation. 
    ­ Ensure timely pickup and delivery of samples from client sites to testing laboratories. 
    ­ Monitor transportation schedules and route planning to maximize efficiency. 
    ­ Coordinate courier services, fleet operations and third-party logistics providers. 
    ­ Maintain proper chain-of-custody procedures for all samples.

     

  2. Sample Integrity & Compliance
    ­ Ensure samples are transported under required temperature and handling conditions. 
    ­ Implement procedures to preserve sample quality and prevent contamination. 
    ­ Maintain compliance with applicable food safety, laboratory and transportation regulations. 
    ­ Ensure proper documentation for sample receipt, dispatch, and tracking.

     

  3. Inventory & Asset Management
    ­ Manage inventory of sampling kits, packaging materials, ice packs, containers and logistics supplies. 
    ­ Monitor stock levels and arrange replenishment as needed. 
    ­ Track and maintain company vehicles, cold-storage equipment and logistics assets.

     

  4. Team Management
    ­ Supervise logistics coordinators and field collection personnel. 
    ­ Assign daily tasks and monitor performance. 
    ­ Conduct training on safety procedures, sample handling and operational standards. 
    ­ Promote a culture of safety, accountability and customer service.

     

  5. Vendor & Client Coordination
    ­ Liaise with clients regarding sample collection schedules and delivery requirements. 
    ­ Manage relationships with transportation vendors and courier companies. 
    ­ Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate service agreements when required.

     

  6. Risk & Safety Management
    ­ Develop contingency plans for transportation delays, equipment failures, or emergencies. 
    ­ Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements. 
    ­ Investigate logistics incidents and implement corrective actions.

Attributes

  • The candidate should have knowledge of supply chain and logistics planning, fleet management and inventory management.
  • The candidate should have proficiency in Microsoft Office.
