A prerequisite for certification is a valid certificate for the UT method, Level 2 and sector w.
Certification is only available for Level 2 and sector w.

Practical experience in months is based on a nominal 40 hours/week or statutory weekly working hours. When a candidate for certification is working in excess of 40 hours per week, he or she may be credited with experience based on the total hours, but shall be required to produce evidence of this experience.

Vision requirements

A candidate must provide documented written evidence (the form is a part of the application for certification) of satisfactory visual acuity in accordance with the following requirements:

1. Near vision acuity shall permit reading a minimum of Jaeger number 1 or Times Roman N 4.5 letters (having a height of 1.6 mm) at not less than 30 cm with one or both eyes, either corrected or uncorrected;

2. Colour vision shall be sufficient that the candidate can distinguish and differentiate contrast between the colours and shades of grey used in the NDT method concerned as specified by the employer.

Visual requirements must be documented prior to passing the qualification examination. Following certification, near vision acuity test must be carried out annually and must be verified by the employer.

Qualification Examination
