Quality Management System for Supply Chain of the Nuclear Energy Sector
A new standard for supply chain of the nuclear energy sector: Quality Management System ČSN ISO 19443:2019 was issued in February 2019 – Specific requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2015 by organizations in the supply chain for the nuclear energy sector supplying products and services important to nuclear safety.
Last year, our company, as an author of the Czech edition of the standard, assumed responsibility for issuing a Czech version of ISO 19443:2018. This standardisation task was carried out by Ing. Daniel Jarchovský, director of one of our divisions (Conformity Assessment Division).
The new standard incorporates binding IAEA recommendations - General Safety Requirements No. GSR Part 2, transposes system requirements for the management of (nuclear) safety into the EN ISO 9001:2015 context, thus essentially prioritizes the system management objectives for nuclear safety. Therefore, the fulfilment of requirements of a new standard requires a major transformation of the management system implemented according to EN ISO 9001:2015. Currently, discussions at expert level are underway on the scope of applicability of the new standard in a supply chain of ČEZ, a.s., the operator of nuclear facilities.
At the same time, the requirements of ČSN ISO 19443:2019 are very similar, and largely identical, to the requirements of State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) Decree No. 408/2016 (Decree on management system requirements), so by implementing the management system according to ČSN ISO 19443:2018, these legislative requirements will be met.
In order to secure fulfilment of these requirements and to enhance the success of your organization on the nuclear market, which currently offers wide range of opportunities, we provide:
- compliance review of the management system with the requirements of ČSN ISO 19443: 2019, or ISO 19443:2018
- a differential audit
- a certification audit (with TÜV NORD Czech non-accredited certificate issued)
- a simple transition to an accredited certificate after the certification has been introduced into the Czech accreditation systém.
Please, do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
