"Quality" is the key to Europe's industrial prosperity...

The Quality Conference, which took place on 24-25 November, addressed topics of pan-European importance.

Like virtually all meetings at European level, the Quality Conference sought to answer the question of how to restart economic prosperity. Participants defined the biggest problems of the current Czech economy: low efficiency and quality of work, poor quality education system (lack of practice, non-compulsory teaching of foreign languages, problems with communication and motivation), energy security, etc.

In line with the subtitle "Return to traditional values and the meaning of quality", the speakers mentioned the various still current ways of managing the "Bata system", shared their experiences on how to communicate quality (with emotions, concrete stories from practice, impact on their specific activities...). There was a consensus among the speakers, especially in the area of the lack of knowledge management teaching at universities and the neglected integrated quality.

And what did the individual speakers imagine under this year's theme The most important link in quality is people?

"All systems are set up on trust." (Jan Weinfurt, Managing Director of TÜV NORD Czech, s.r.o.)
"It is essential that quality becomes part of the company's DNA, otherwise it will be perceived as just a pile of paperwork." (Michaela Tavalyová, Head of Quality Management, Slovnaft a.s.)
"We all have to think about what we are doing - otherwise we won't get anywhere." (Head of NPP Quality Management, CEZ a.s.)
