We participated in a project to remotely measure truck emissions

The project identified more than 12% of trucks with above-limit NOx emissions during daytime and 30% during nighttime operation.

The City Air Remote Emission Sensing - CARES campaign, which we participated in together with the Police of the Czech Republic and Airyx in the week from 12 to 16 September, took place on the D1 motorway and a total of 885 vehicles were checked.

The aim of this European project was to measure exhaust emissions in normal traffic (the measuring vehicle followed the truck).
During the subsequent physical inspection of vehicles with measured values above the limit, the Police of the Czech Republic found not only defects in the SCR system, but also deliberate manipulation of the SCR system (most often in the form of modification of the control unit software).

The campaign is ongoing in various EU countries (Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium...). The aim is to find out the real contribution of road transport to air pollution in order to introduce more effective measures.
