Almost 1 in 8 of Flemish companies was a victim of a cyber attack in 2021. This emerges from a first baseline measurement commissioned by Flemish Minister for Economy and Innovation Hilde Crevits to map the maturity of cybersecurity in Flemish companies.
Large companies in particular experience the most cyber attacks, but the consequences turn out to be greater in small companies, which are often less protected. For example, 40% of small SMEs faced unusable ICT systems due to cyber attacks in 2021.
