Food Safety

QS is a bill of specifications developed in 2001 whose main objective is to guarantee food safety with regard to hygiene and pest control residues. The owner of this bill of specifications is the German food industry. The quality system incorporates rules for the companies throughout big parts of the food chain : the meat producing sector starting from animal feed production to meat manufacturing companies until the shop; the sector of fresh fruits and vegetables, starting from the growers until the wholesaler and the shop.
