TÜV NORD Hellas offers certification services for organic products, having received accreditation from the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) (accreditation no. 31-2) and the relevant licence from the Ministry of Rural Development and Food (YPAAT) (Government Gazette 1757/9 November 2010).

Organic products are inspected and certified in accordance with the EU legislative framework established in the early 1990s. The development of organic farming and market demands led to the updating of this legislation with the adoption of EU Regulation No 2018/848. Both European and national legislation (Joint Ministerial Decision 2543/103240/3 October 2017) stipulate that responsibility for the certification of organic products lies with private, impartial certification bodies, which assess the correct application of the rules governing the production of organic products.
