TÜV NORD Hellas
TÜV NORD Hellas has established its own subsidiaries in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, specifically in Cyprus, Lebanon and Egypt.
TÜV NORD Hellas is one of TÜV NORD’s earliest subsidiaries worldwide (1987).
In line with TÜV NORD’s global expansion, it has established its own subsidiaries in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region – a geographical area for which, together with the Balkans, TÜV NORD is responsible for development and coordination.
The first such subsidiary, in the form of the TÜV LEBANON Branch Office of TÜV NORD Hellas, was established in Lebanon in 2005. The Branch Office’s main activity is the inspection of all fruit and vegetables exported from Lebanon, as well as cooperation with EDL (Electricité de Liban).
The second subsidiary, operating as TÜV CYPRUS LTD, was established in Cyprus in 2007. TÜV NORD Hellas holds a 75% stake, and the company’s main activities are System Certification and the Inspection of Installations and Structures. TÜV CYPRUS is currently the leading certification company in Cyprus.
The third subsidiary, established as a public limited company (SA), was set up in Egypt in 2010. TÜV NORD Hellas holds a 51% stake (with TÜV NORD holding 9%), and the core activities of TÜV EGYPT are System Certifications, certification in the agri-food sector, and inspections in the oil and gas sector. The company has already certified some of Egypt’s largest companies.
