Electric vehicle charger installation control

With the aim of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, the European Union has adopted measures to promote electromobility. This has resulted in a significant increase in sales of electric and hybrid vehicles. At the same time, there is a need to charge these vehicles using appropriate chargers at various points on the national road network and in urban areas.

TÜV NORD Ελλάδας, responding to the ever-increasing need for the installation of a network of chargers, has developed a package of services for the control of the safe and uninterrupted operation of electric vehicle charging stations, in accordance with the requirements of Law 4710/2020, Government Gazette 142/A/23-7-2020 "Promotion of electromobility and other provisions".

These services include:

• Review of the technical characteristics of the charging devices
• Review of the electrical design of the installation based on the technical characteristics of the charging devices and the applicable specifications
• Checking the appropriate type of power supply and appropriately shaped surface
• Checking the electrical infrastructure and electrical panel at the installation site of the chargers, in accordance with the requirements of the standards for electrical installations (ELOT 60364, IEC 60364-6)
• Check the charger installation for mechanical protection and for the protection of users
• Confirmation of good functioning of the charger
