The involvement of an Inspection Body in Building Engineering Projects ensures compliance with Specifications, Standards and Legislation, as well as their safety and functionality for the benefit of users, whilst also providing undeniable added value to the project.
TÜV NORD Hellas’ contribution to the above consists of:
- Approval of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), which is mandatory for public projects and optional for private projects
- Monitoring the implementation of the PQP
- Approval of materials, equipment and structures to be incorporated into the final project
- Inspection of subcontractors’ facilities
- Receipt of equipment at manufacturing plants
- Review of subcontractors’ construction methodologies
- Attendance at laboratory tests
- Inspection during construction
- Random quality checks on work
- Attendance at final acceptance tests, operational checks and commissioning
Our Organisation has actively participated in the implementation of major infrastructure projects both in Greece and abroad. Notable examples include:
- The inspection of the building facilities at the New Athens International Airport ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ and the relocation of Olympic Airways to the new airport
- The provision of certification, quality control, inspection and testing services for the TRAM system and the extension of the tram line to Voula
- The inspection of the majority of Olympic projects, such as the Olympic Village, the OAKA (Calatrava I and II), the Galatsi Olympic Indoor Gymnasium, the Indoor Wrestling Hall, the Weightlifting House, the Olympic Baseball & Basketball facilities at Elliniko, the Olympic Broadcasting Centre (IBC) and many others
- Inspection of hotel complexes such as NAVARINO RESORTS-Navarino Dunes, Athens Hilton, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts-San Stefano Alexandria, Egypt, Sofitel Athens Airport, Intercontinental (Cairo, Egypt)
- Inspection of public sector building complexes, such as the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) / Forensic Department, the reconstruction of a four-storey building on Vasileiadis Quay to house the Ministry of Shipping and the former KERANI building to house the Ministry of Culture
- Inspection of the Athens & Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the new National Insurance building on Syngrou Avenue, the Ericsson office building at the Attiki Odos service area, the Avenue shopping centre, the new AEL stadium in Larissa and many others
