Job Responsibility

  • Laboratory Operations Management

    ­Plan, coordinate, and oversee all testing and calibration activities within the laboratory.

    ­Ensure timely completion of test assignments and adherence to project schedules.

    ­Conduct weekly review meeting with all stakeholders for operation planning and execution prioritization. 

    ­Manage workflow allocation across testing teams and equipment to maximize throughput.

    ­Monitor and optimize laboratory utilization, turnaround time, and resource efficiency.

    ­Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment in compliance with applicable safety standards.
     

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
    ­Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and other relevant standards.

    ­Ensure all testing procedures, equipment, and documentation comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
    Lead internal audits and coordinate with external accreditation bodies (BIS, NABL, etc.).

    ­Review and approve test reports, calibration certificates, and technical documentation.

    ­Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and technical deviations; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

     

  • Team Leadership & Human Resource Management
    ­Lead, mentor, and develop a team of test engineers, technicians, and laboratory support staff.

    ­Establish performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews.

    ­Identify training needs and facilitate skill development programs for laboratory personnel.

    ­Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.

    ­Manage staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage for all laboratory operations.
     

  • Equipment & Infrastructure Management
    ­Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and qualification of all laboratory instruments and test equipment.

    ­Manage preventive maintenance schedules and minimize equipment downtime.

    ­Evaluate and recommend procurement of new equipment to enhance laboratory capabilities.

    ­Maintain accurate inventory of instruments, spare parts, and consumables.
     

  • Business Development & Client Management
    ­Interface with clients to understand testing requirements and provide technical solutions.

    ­Prepare quotations, proposals, and service agreements for laboratory services.
    Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, OEMs, and regulatory bodies.

    ­Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the expansion of laboratory service offerings.
     

  • Financial & Budget Management
    ­Develop and manage the laboratory operations budget, including personnel, equipment, and consumables.

    ­Monitor operational costs and identify areas for cost optimization without compromising quality.

    ­Prepare monthly and quarterly operational reports for senior management review.
     

  • Regulatory & Standards Liaison

    ­Stay updated with evolving national and international testing standards (IEC, IS, ANSI, EN, IEEE, etc.).

    ­Liaise with regulatory authorities (BIS, NABL, etc.) for licensing and compliance matters.

    ­Ensure laboratory practices are aligned with updates to applicable product standards and testing methodologies.

    ­Hands-on experience in testing electrical/electronic products such as consumer appliances, power equipment, luminaires, cables, switchgear, or industrial electronics.

    ­Proven knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management standards and accreditation processes.

    ­Proficiency in electrical safety testing (high voltage, insulation resistance, earth continuity, leakage current).

    ­Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing procedures and applicable standards.
    Understanding of environmental simulation testing (temperature, humidity, vibration, IP ratings).

    ­Competence in use of laboratory instruments: oscilloscopes, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, LCR meters, etc.

    ­Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and product specifications.

    ­Proficiency in laboratory management software and MS Office applications.
