TÜV HELLAS Certification and Inspection Agency, understanding the importance of the safety of escalators and moving walkways, provides inspection services based on the European Standard EN 115-1 (Safety rules for the construction and installation of escalators and moving walkways).

The accreditation of our services by the National Accreditation System (NAS) is a continuation and recognition of our organization's activity in the relevant field through which it has developed the required expertise.

The periodic inspection of the escalators and moving walkways is considered particularly important since these are machines that serve the general public in areas with high traffic. It is worth noting that, due to the nature of their operation, escalators are more prone to accidents than lifts.

An inspection by an Accredited Organisation guarantees, in an objective manner and according to objective criteria, that escalators and moving walks comply with European safety standards, both during their installation and at regular intervals after they have been put into operation.

The inspection according to European Standard EN 115-1 usually includes the following tasks:

• Checking safety clearances with neighbouring building elements.
• Visual inspection of the machine
• Testing of the safety devices
• Testing of the device, including testing of the safety devices, the safety device's safety devices and the operation of the device.
