Qualification

  • B. Tech/ M. tech (Chemical/Production/ Petroleum/ Mechanical Engineering). 
  • PG in Process Safety / Loss Prevention / Industrial Health & Safety (optional)

Additional Qualification

  • Certified HAZOP Leader
  • Certified Functional Safety Engineer / Professional
  • Certified PSM
  • Certification in Risk Assessment Tools Operation (QRA, FERA)
  • NFPA Certification

Experience

6+ Years in Process Safety 

Job Profile

  • Assists the Commercial, Engineering and Operations Department in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Risk and safety business.
  • Provides technical support to Senior Management on any process safety & asset integrity related subjects.
  • Provide technical support to multiple domestic and international projects.
  • Carries out technical review/ guidance to Sub-contractor’s deliverables.
  • Team building
  • Liaises between Clients to deliver quality and timely execution of the work being assigned.
  • In-depth knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis & Risk Engineering such as HAZID, HAZOP, ENVID, FMEA, Event Tree, Fault Tree, Bow-Tie, QRA, SIL, LOPA, OHRA, MOPO, SIMOPS, EERA, Safety Critical Element, Performance Standards, Dispersion Analysis, Consequence Analysis, Fire and Explosion Analysis, Flare Dispersion Analysis, Hazardous Area Classification, Non Process Hazard Analysis, IRPA, LSIR, PL, Societal Risk, Toxic Gas Analysis, Noise Mapping, Fire & Gas Mapping (2D & 3D), RAM, ESSA etc.
  • Sound knowledge on following Fire Protection Engineering activities:
  1. Well conversant with Codes and Standards (NFPA, API, OISD, etc.)
  2. Fire water demand calculation
  3. Fire water layout / PIDs
  4. Deluge system PIDs
  5. Hydraulic calculations for Firewater ring main
  6. Hydraulic calculation for Deluge systems
  7. 3D model review for fire water system (incl. deluge systems)
  8. Preparation of Fire-fighting Equipment specifications
  9. Preparation of Fire-fighting Equipment layout
  10. Building Protection / Safety related activities
  11. Fire-fighting Equipment Vendor document review
  12. Preparation of fire hazardous area plan (Passive fire protection list and extent) and fire-fighting equipment plot plan
  13. Design fire and gas detection system, allocation and layout preparation
  • Prior experience in conducting PHA & Risk Assessment in Process Industries viz. Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, Chemical, API, and Pharmaceutical etc. is must. 
  • Hands-on experience in using software tools like PHA-Pro, exSILentia, DNV PHAST, Detect 3D, SoundPLAN, In:flux, PHAST RISK/SAFETI, THESIS, AutoCAD etc. is must.
