TÜV NORD Greece has developed a standard that defines the requirements for the production and delivery of GMO controlled compound feed.
In the absence of a uniform legislation (European and Greek) on the presence of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in raw materials, additives and compound foods, TUV HELLAS has developed a standard that defines the requirements for the production and delivery of GMO-controlled compound feed. These requirements were established on the basis of the European legislation related to the deliberate release of GMOs into the environment (2001/18/CE). In the introduction of the regulations concerning genetically modified food and feed (CE 1829/2003; GM Feed-Food), labelling and traceability (CE1830/2003; GM Tracability), the standard was adapted to the new regulations.
The purpose of this standard is to prescribe the method to be followed for the production and distribution of foods derived from raw materials controlled for GMOs (<0.9%).
The primary purpose of the standard is to avoid the deliberate release of GMOs into the environment during the production of raw materials or compound foods. This procedure applies to the production of GMO-controlled compound foods.
