HACCP Food Safety

HACCP Codex Alimentarius is an international specification based on the proactive management of food safety issues and its implementation is mandatory according to European and Greek legislation. TÜV NORD Greece provides certification services for Food Safety Management System according to the HACCP Codex Alimentarius specification, with German accreditation (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle - DAkkS).

HACCP Codex Alimentarius is an international specification based on the proactive management of food safety issues. It was issued by the Codex Alimentarius Committee and its application is mandatory according to European and Greek legislation. It consists of a set of hygiene principles based on:

  • The analysis and identification of risks
  • The assessment of these in terms of their criticality
  • The establishment of critical control points
  • The establishment of critical limits
  • the documented control and verification of preventive measures

By monitoring and verifying the effectiveness of the measures taken, a proactive food safety management system is established that achieves compliance with the requirements of the applicable legislation and provides a tool for further improvement. It is addressed to all businesses involved in the supply chain, and includes:

  • Enterprises in the primary sector (animal husbandry, production of plant products)
  • Enterprises in the secondary sector (processing for food and feed production)
  • Enterprises active in storage, distribution, wholesale and retailing

TÜV NORD Greece (TÜV NORD), in the context of the continuous information of its customers and the expansion of its services, from 01 February 2018, transfers all its HACCP Codex Alimentarius Codex Alimentarius Accredited Certificates, which are accredited by the Accreditation Body DAKKS to the Accreditation Body ANSI.

These certificates already issued shall remain valid.
