Organic Products

TÜV NORD Greece offers certification services for organic products, having received the accreditation from the National Accreditation System (ESYD) (No. 31-2) and the corresponding license from the Ministry of Rural Development and Food (YPAT) (Government Gazette 1757/9.11.2010).

 

Following the developments in the agri-food sector, TÜV NORD Greece supports the promotion of consumer confidence in organic products through reliable certification procedures. Organic products are controlled and certified under an EU legislative framework created in the early 90s. The evolution of organic agriculture and market requirements led to the renewal of this legislation with the adoption of EU Regulation 2018/848.Both European and national legislation (KYA 2543/103240/3.10.2017) stipulate that the responsibility for the certification of organic products is assumed by private impartial certification bodies, which assess the correct application of the rules for the production of organic products.
