Shape field (scope)

The EL-TRANSLATIONS Editing & Proofreading Expert certification scheme is aimed at text editors who are experienced translators and/or experts in the subject area of the translation or monolingual text and who carry out a series of checks on the translation or text. The editors are involved in the project cycle after the translator.

Cognitive framework (syllabus)

• Basic knowledge of translation memory software
• Wordcount, Editing/Review
• Proofreading/Quality assurance
• DTP/PLP
• Monolingual proofreading/Linguistic check
• Online check/Web check, CAT tool external review

Certification requirements

At least a higher education degree/diploma, very good knowledge of a foreign language, knowledge of computer operation and attendance of the EL-TRANSLATIONS training course 'B016 - Editing & Proofreading Expert'.
