Shape field (scope)

The Information and Data Literacy - DigComp Certified User scheme applies to users able to use search strategies, update information and content in the digital environment, identify different types of websites, assess the reliability of data sources and organise digital content in a structured environment.

 

The Information Literacy And Data Literacy - DigComp Certified User format is offered in its entirety, as well as can be subdivided into three sub-schemes and three levels:

 

Subscheme

The main features of the system are as follows

 

  1. Browsing, searching and filtering of data, information and digital content.

 

It concerns the formulation of information needs, searching for, accessing and navigating through data, information and content in digital environments to create and update personal search strategies.

 

  1. Data, information and digital content assessment

 

It concerns the analysis, comparison and evaluation of the reliability and sources of data, information and digital content, as well as the analysis, interpretation and critical evaluation of data, information and digital content.

 

  1. Management of data, information and digital content

 

It concerns the organisation, storage and retrieval of data, information and content in digital environments, as well as the organisation and processing of data, information and content within a structured environment.

 

Cognitive framework (syllabus)

1. BROWSING, SEARCHING AND FILTERING DATA, INFORMATION AND DIGITAL CONTENT

  • Web content in search results, advertising and selling user data
  • Billing or subscribing to a service and factors influencing social media activity flows (geographical location, device, local legislation, trends of other users)
  • Use of algorithms in search engines, social media and content platforms (personalisation)

2. EVALUATION OF DATA, INFORMATION AND DIGITAL CONTENT

  • Misinformation, deception and misleading through fake news and deep fakes
  • Identification of the source and verification of information or news
  • Use of websites and parameters of commercial, political or other content

3. DATA, INFORMATION AND DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGEMENT

  • Collection, retrieval, monitoring and processing of data - Digitisation of data and hardware
  • Sensors for digital technologies and applications (e.g. face tracking cameras, virtual assistants, wearable technologies, mobile phones, smart devices) and AI systems
