The technical rules for interoperable railway systems regulate the far-reaching technical requirements for the trans-European railway network to a degree unknown before (TEN-V).These rules are based on the European railway directives, including those regulating interoperability of the trans-European railway systems.
Since 2016, the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) has implemented the 4th Railway Package (referred to 4th RP) to further deepen the reform and break down technical barriers, which includes the interoperability directives , technical specifications of interoperability(TSI), the railway safety directives and regulation.
In addition, each member state has issued its national notified technical requirements (NNTR), and the rolling stock must comply with NNTRs when it needs to obtain the approval of vehicle authorisation.
TÜV NORD is recognised by the European Union Railway Bureau as a Notified Body (NoBo), Safety Assessment Body (AsBo) and Designated Body (DeBo) in Germany, Luxembourg and Denmark. TÜV NORD has established cooperation with DeBos in many European countries and is committed to providing Homologation and has assisted a number of CRRC, CRCC projects exported to the European Union in completing or carrying out Homologation.
