The Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (TPED), also known as Directive 1999/36/EC in its latest revision of 2010/35/EU, applies to type approval assessment, manufacturing supervision, initial and periodic inspection, conformity reassessment, and supervision of internal inspection services for transportable pressure equipment and containers. The directive also applies to small components of pressure equipment and is applicable to road (ADR - European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), railway (RID - Regulations concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail), and inland waterway transport (AND - European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Inland Waterways).
As an accredited notified body, with our type approval certificate, manufacturers can mark the conformity mark (i.e., Pi mark) on their products.
