Health and Safety Training

Because falls from height account for most fatalities at work and result in many major injuries, work at height justifiably receives a great deal of attention from Enforcing Authorities. The Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply to all work where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury and aim to prevent deaths and injuries caused by falls at work. This course will show how the regulations can be put into practice at all levels of an organisation.

The course includes practical elements in the correct use of safety harnesses and can be adapted to be bespoke to all types of business, e.g. include practical use of ladders and stepladders where required or practical. It can be completed within 1 day, or expanded further according to client needs.

This course aims to enable staff at all levels to understand the risks and legal implications of working at height and the practical measures that should be employed to control them and is particularly directed at those required to use safety harnesses, lanyards and access equipment.

• Personnel required to work at height with fall arrest, restraint or access equipment
• Managers / supervisors / individuals responsible for teams or groups of employees who require understanding of working at height.

This course encourages interaction with delegates and their participation and includes both the presentation of theory and also practical sessions. Delegates are encouraged to ask questions and have the opportunity to discuss issues and problems within their own workplaces.

Delegates must complete and pass a short written exam at the end of the course. Delegates who attend and successfully complete the course will be awarded a certificate of instruction.
