FSCC 22000 Health and Safety in Food & Beverage Businesses

FSSC 22000 v6 is a certification system based on the ISO 22000:2018 standard which provides the general framework and requirements for food safety management, while also including the requirements of the ISO/TS 22002 series (such as ISO/TS 22002-1, 22002-4, etc.) for prerequisite programs (PRPs) that are critical to the implementation of the food safety system.

However, FSSC 22000 v6 also introduces additional requirements that make the certification process more rigorous and organized, while also addressing new trends and requirements of the food industry. These additional requirements mainly relate to the certification process, arrangements for continuous improvement, management involvement, and documentation and monitoring of compliance.

FSSC 22000 is recognized by the Global Food Safety Authority (GFSI), based on the requirements specified in the GFSI Guidance Document Version 6.

Food companies already implementing ISO 22000 can be certified to FSSC 22000 by incorporating and implementing into their existing Food Safety Management System the requirements of both ISO/TS 22002 and the additional elements of the additional requirements of FSSC v6.
