The Community Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, also known as the EMAS Regulation, is a public quality label for voluntary environmental management and communication.
Such a scheme includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Design and implementation of an Environmental Management System. The system may comply with the requirements of EN ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and/or EN ISO 50001: 2011 (energy management).
- Active involvement of the staff of the enterprises in environmental management issues
- Preparation and publication of an Environmental Statement. The Environmental Statement contains verified information on all environmental issues relevant to the company's operations, as well as on the company's performance in managing environmental issues (energy efficiency, efficient use of materials, water, waste, biodiversity, emissions)
- Verification of the Environmental Statement
TÜV NORD Greece is accredited by the National Accreditation System (NSYD) and has many years of experience in the verification of EMS according to the EMAS Regulation and in the validation of the relevant Environmental Declarations in a wide range of industrial activities.
