The safety of personnel, installations and products, as well as the Greek Legislation, require the operational control and inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with the Legislation.

The term lifting equipment includes a wide range of equipment covering construction cranes, mobile cranes, (crawler, wheeled), gantry cranes, monorail winches, fork lifts, basket trucks, hoists and concrete pumps. Lifting equipment is used in most Industrial and Construction sites.

The safety of personnel, installations and products, as well as the Greek Legislation, require the operational control and inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with the Legislation published in the Government Gazette 1186/B/25-08-03 and the European standards.

The process of inspection and certification of the good and safe operation of a lifting machine includes :

• Inspection / Approval of Maintenance / Inspection Books, User Instruction Books as well as Certificates of previous inspections, components, wire ropes
• Checking the completeness of the requirements on signage and safety mechanisms
• Check before commissioning, Mechanical - Electrical parts
• Operational check without load and with load
• Functional check of all safety mechanisms.

TÜV HELLAS is accredited by the ESYD (National Accreditation System) for the initial and periodic inspection of lifting equipment.

To date, TÜV HELLAS has inspected more than 3,000 lifting machines per year.
