ELOT 1429 – Managerial Adequacy of Organizations for Project Implementation

The ELOT 1429 standard combines the requirements of a quality management system with those of a project management system.

Public interest projects address societal needs and aim to foster development, social cohesion, and improved quality of life for citizens. These projects include co-financed initiatives under the 2014–2020 programming period, as well as any project that receives public funding, whether from national or EU resources.

The development of the standards series related to managerial adequacy arose from the need to improve management and control systems for actions carried out within development interventions. By implementing and maintaining a Managerial Adequacy System, the goal is to achieve project objectives through the most efficient utilization of available resources.

The standard is accompanied by three implementation guides that specify the application requirements for the three project categories:

• ELOT 1431-1: Implementation Guide of ELOT 1429 for organizations implementing public infrastructure technical projects
• ELOT 1431-2: Implementation Guide of ELOT 1429 for organizations implementing public contracts for supplies and services
• ELOT 1431-3: Implementation Guide of ELOT 1429 for organizations implementing specific actions with in-house resources

ELOT 1429 can also be applied by organizations that implement non-public interest projects and wish to improve their managerial adequacy.
