The international standard ISO 22716 describes the requirements for the application of good manufacturing practices for companies that produce, package, store and trade cosmetics in the European markets.

Application of the standard aims to ensure customer safety.

ISO 22716 describes the requirements and provides guidance for the application of good manufacturing practices in the cosmetics industry. It includes guidelines and practical methods regarding the organizational and technical guidance for the management of human, technical and managerial factors that affect the production, storage, monitoring and trade of cosmetics.

The European Regulation for cosmetics (ΕC) nr. 1223/2009, which was made mandatory since July 2013, demands the application of good manufacturing practices in the cosmetics industry. The application and certification of a management system according to ISO 22716 by companies involved in the cosmetics industry proves their compliance with the regulations and laws.

TÜV HELLAS has certified various companies from the cosmetics sector according to management system standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and has an experienced team of auditors with knowledge about the procedures of cosmetics production in order to meet the audit demands of the new ISO 22716 standard.
