Traceability to Food Industry

ISO 22005:2007

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has introduced the ISO 22005:2007 standard for the traceability of food and feed.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has introduced the ISO 22005:2007 standard for the traceability of food and feed. The new standard gives the principles and specifies the basic requirements for designing and implementing a traceability system, and can be applied to any company that works at any stage of food and feed chain.

The recent food scandals (e.g. dioxins in pork and chicken) have stressed the need for companies to develop integrated traceability systems. Since hazards can occur at any stage of the manufacturing process and throughout the supply chain, control and communication throughout the process is essential.

TÜV HELLAS (member of TÜV NORD) SA, with extensive experience in certification systems and products, in response to developments and concerns in the food and feed, inspect and issue confirmation certificates to companies that implement Management Systems in Traceability and satisfy the requirements of standard ISO 22005:2007 and the Rules of Traceability of TÜV HELLAS.
