Quality management system
ISO 50001 promotes energy efficiency, helping companies reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy costs. A certified energy management system is designed to improve energy performance and enhance competitiveness.

ISO 50001 is the global standard for energy management systems, providing organizations with a framework to systematically improve energy performance. By implementing ISO 50001, companies can optimize energy use, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
The standard supports continuous improvement in energy efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and overall energy-related performance. Beyond environmental benefits, ISO 50001 certification strengthens competitiveness, demonstrates energy management expertise, and enhances public and stakeholder confidence.
ISO 50001 is applicable across all sectors, making it ideal for both manufacturing companies and service providers, regardless of size or location.

ISO 50001 certification is suitable for organizations aiming to manage energy systematically and sustainably. This includes:
ISO 50001 certification enables organizations monitor energy use throughout their value chain, identify problem areas, and drive continuous performance enhancement, creating tangible financial and environmental benefits.
In February 2024, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published a joint communiqué to highlight the addition of climate change considerations to a number of existing ISO management system standards (MSS).
Clauses 4.1 and 4.2 of the MSS are affected. This is to ensure that climate change issues are considered by the organization in the context of the effectiveness of the management system, in addition to all other aspects.
Certification is not legally required, but it provides structured guidance to systematically manage energy and demonstrates commitment to sustainability.
Its high-level structure allows seamless integration with ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment) management systems.
Reductions in energy costs, potential exemptions from certain levies, and improved transparency in energy use.
Certification supports compliance with local and EU energy laws, including obligations under the Energy Services Act and related directives.
