The manufacturing of pressure equipment according to the European Directive 97/23/EC is obligatory since 29/05/2002. This directive applies to pressure equipment with a working pressure greater than 0,5 bar and relates to: pressure vessels, steam boilers, piping, accessories and assemblies.
The Directive is addressed to the manufacturers and/or their authorized representatives.
The conformity assessment of the pressure equipment is made through a combination of the following:
- Design/Type examination
- Inspection of production
- Quality System certification
TÜV HELLAS is accredited body by ESYD (Greek Accreditation System) and Notified Body in the EU (Notification No: 0654) for the certification of pressure equipment.
Our organization has been trusted by manufacturers of pressure vessels (for oil refineries, chemical industries etc.), LPG tanks, heat exchangers, steam boilers, piping systems, assemblies and valves.
The term "pressure equipment" means pressure vessels and steam boilers. The periodic controls are required not only by the existing legislation but they are necessary for the safe use and the protection of personnel from accidents.
The inspection procedure is subject to Greek legislation and European legislation and specifications.

TÜV HELLAS is accredited by the ESYD (Greek Accreditation System) for the periodic inspections of pressure vessels and steam boilers.
