Organic Products in EU
TUV HELLAS, closely following all relevant developments in the agri-food sector and in order to enhance consumer confidence in organic products, has received the accreditation issued by ESYD (Accred. No. 31-2) and the corresponding license from MADF (GG 1757/9.11.2010) required to provide Certification of Organic Products services.
Thus, the company is authorized to perform inspections and issue the relevant accredited certificates for organic products regarding both in primary production and processing.

Organic products are inspected and certified according to the EU regulatory framework, firstly implemented in the early 90’s. The development of organic agriculture and the demands of the market have led to the adaptation of this legislation and the release of the EU Regulations No. 834/2007 and 889/2008. Both the European and national legislation (JMD 245090/2006) clearly state that responsibility for the certification of organic products is with the impartial private certification bodies who assess the correct application of the organic production rules and regulations.
