

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 Regulation 2(1) defines an “accessory for lifting” as “lifting equipment for attaching loads to machinery for lifting.”
The Health and Safety Executive Approved Codes of Practice and guidance L113 Safe use of lifting equipment Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 paragraph 29 states “Lifting accessories would include such items as slings, removable eyebolts, chains, ropes, shackles, grabs, magnets, vacuum lifters, crane forks, lifting beams and spreaders.”
