To help central Taiwan’s industrial supply chain expand into the South Asian market, the Changhua City Government, in collaboration with the India Taipei Association, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and the New Southbound Policy Alliance, held the "India Industry Briefing" on the 3rd at the Changhua Senior Citizens’ Center. The event featured a keynote speech by Manharsinh Laxmanbhai Yadav, Director General of the India Taipei Association, who provided an in-depth analysis of India’s current economic development and market trends. The briefing attracted enthusiastic participation from representatives of the machine tool, machinery components, and SME sectors.

During the event, Mr. Yadav, who is also India’s representative in Taiwan, delivered a special address on "India’s Economic Development and Market Trends," sharing insights into the Indian government’s recent initiatives such as "Make in India," "Digital India," and "Startup India," as well as the outcomes of tax and regulatory reforms aimed at attracting foreign investment. Mr. Chen, CEO of the New Southbound Global Industry Alliance, opened the session with a talk titled "Landing in India, New Frontiers for Taiwan Manufacturing," highlighting complementary opportunities in the bilateral industrial supply chains between Taiwan and India.
Additionally, Mr. Shih, Director of the South Asia Section at TAITRA’s Market Development Department, gave a presentation titled "Understanding India, Seizing Business Opportunities," introducing strategies for overcoming language, regulatory, and cultural barriers, and identifying concrete opportunities in India’s automotive components, green technology, and ICT sectors. Furthermore, Mr. Chi, Manager of the BU Industrial Services at TÜV NORD Taiwan, explained the "India BIS Product Inspection System," helping enterprises understand the necessary certification procedures for entering the Indian market.

Meanwhile, Ms. Chen, Secretary General of the ESC Enterprise Sustainability Consortium, shared insights on "Resource Networks for Entering the Indian Market." She emphasized that companies should integrate both public and private resources to establish international partnerships, thereby reducing the risks associated with overseas expansion. The event concluded with a lively Q&A and networking session. This briefing was not only an important step in deepening Changhua City’s implementation of the New Southbound Policy, but also a model of how local governments in Taiwan are actively building international industry bridges, demonstrating determination and action to keep local industries in step with global trends.
