NDT Personnel Certification

Certification scope

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is an essential part of the condition assessment of materials and components. For this reason, various non-destructive testing methods have been developed and are still being continuously refined today (e.g., digital radiographic testing).

For the accurate performance of non-destructive testing, technical experts in this area must be appropriately qualified. For this reason, regulations have been introduced for the certification of NDT personnel, which are described in international standards.

TÜV NORD operates as certification body for non-destructive testing personnel (NDT personnel), which is accredited by DAkkS according to ISO/IEC 17024.

In addition, we offer you the opportunity to also be certified according to UK PESR 2016.

We certify in 3 stages the following methods according to DIN EN ISO 9712:2022 and the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU :

Certification program

We consider five different product sectors:

• Castings
• Forgings
• Welded products
• Tubes and pipes
• Rolled products

Manufacturers of the above products, as well as companies that need to test them during production or maintenance, will benefit from this certification program.

To obtain a certificate, among other things, theoretical and practical training must be completed and a qualification exam must be passed.
