AHOLD

Ahold is a private scheme specified for Albert Heijn supermarket in Holland which is sourcing fresh products from different area's all over the world as Netherlands, where it imports fruit and vegetables from Egypt. The supermarket creates purchasing conditions which guarantee full implementation of the EU legislation on MRL(Maximum residue limit) for fresh products.

Therefore Albert Heijn has developed a protocol to control the residue levels at the sources:

  • The farm sites
  • The packing houses of the suppliers

The main concept is analyzing the chemical hazard (pesticides residue) during harvest and complying it with AHOLD risk assessment form in order to export the fruits and vegetables to Albert Heijn supermarket after a technical inspection from TÜV NORD EGYPT which has a qualified and approved auditors from ISACERT (accreditation body) under the umbrella of TÜV NORD GROUP.

ISACert is the service provider of AH to develop, implement and facilitate the AH protocol.
