TUV USA, Inc., has earned the status of licensed training center for the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program. SQF is owned by the Food Marketing Institute.
The SQF program is a leading global food safety and quality certification program and management system designed to meet the needs of buyers, manufacturers and suppliers worldwide. The program provides independent certification that a supplier's food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations. This enables suppliers to assure customers that food has been produced, processed, prepared and handled in accordance with globally accepted food safety standards.

TUV USA, Inc. will be hosting monthly SQF classes at various locations around the country, including Chicago, Orlando, Boston and Georgia beginning in August of 2017. The first step in achieving SQF certification is to clearly understand the SQF Code requirements. Oftentimes growers, processors and manufacturers already have in place many of the food safety and quality programs found in the Code, but an additional assessment must be made to identify any gaps to be sure they are fully protecting their product. The SQF Advanced Practitioner Course is designed for the current SQF practitioner seeking further information on how to improve and maintain the supplier’s SQF System. Through activity-based instruction, the course provides the tools practitioners need to use the internal audit program to manage, maintain and enhance the site’s SQF System; harness the corrective action/preventive action process to identify trends and build continuous improvement; communicate with senior management to more fully define the site’s commitment to food safety; and develop and prioritize key performance indicators to assure continuous improvement of the SQF System.
