Data Protection

1. General

In accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act, TÜV NORD Korea has established and publicly disclosed the following guidelines to protect personal information of data subjects and to promptly and effectively handle related complaints.

Through this Privacy Policy, TÜV NORD Korea informs you of how your personal information is collected, used, and the measures taken to ensure its protection.

2. Consent to Collection of Personal Information

TÜV NORD Korea provides a procedure on its website where you can click the "Agree" or "Disagree" button regarding the collection of personal information in accordance with the Terms and Conditions. By clicking "Agree," you consent to the collection of your personal information.

3. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

TÜV NORD Korea collects only the minimum personal information necessary to provide its services. Specific purposes of collection and use are as follows:

  1. Email address, phone number

    - To secure a communication channel for notifications and complaint handling

    - To provide information about new services, news, and events

  2. Optional information

    - To provide personalized services

4. Access and Correction of Personal Information

You have the right to access or correct your personal information at any time. Requests for access or correction can be made by contacting the Personal Information Manager (in writing, by phone, or email), and immediate action will be taken.

If a correction request is made, the relevant personal information will not be used until the correction is completed. If incorrect information has already been provided to third parties, the correction results will be promptly notified to ensure proper correction.

5. Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw your consent for the collection, use, and provision of personal information at any time. To do so, contact the Personal Information Manager (in writing, by phone, or email), and appropriate actions such as deletion of personal information will be taken immediately.

6. Retention and Use Period of Personal Information

TÜV NORD Korea will immediately delete collected personal information using irreversible methods upon request (if provided to a third party, instructions will be given to delete it as well). However, personal information will be retained for the periods specified in the following cases:

  1. When retention is required by law (e.g., Commercial Act), transaction records and minimum essential information will be retained for the legally prescribed period.
  2. If the retention period has been previously notified to the individual and has not yet expired, or if individual consent is obtained, information will be retained for the promised period.

7. Collection of Personal Information via Cookies

TÜV NORD Korea website uses cookies to store and retrieve information. Cookies are used for the following purposes:

  1. To analyze visit frequency and duration, identify user preferences and interests, and utilize this data for targeted marketing and service improvements. Participation in events and visits are tracked to provide differentiated opportunities and personalized information.
  2. You have the choice to manage cookies. You can allow all cookies, confirm before storing cookies, or refuse all cookies via your web browser settings ([Tools] > [Internet Options] > [Security] > [Custom Level]).

8. Personal Information Manager and Contact for Opinions/Complaints

To protect your personal information and handle complaints, TÜV NORD Korea has appointed a Personal Information Manager. You may submit inquiries or complaints regarding personal information, and immediate action will be taken, with results notified to you.
