Potholes

Driving with potholes

As winter comes to an end many frost damages on the road appear - cracks in the asphalt and often even potholes. The cause is clear: due to existing cracks, moisture penetrates into the asphalt.

At freezing temperatures, the frozen water breaks up the asphalt in the cracks. This can frequently result in a flat tire and cause damage to axle suspension. It is important that each individual driver adapts their speed to the road conditions to avoid these damages.

What to do if you have suffered damage

In any case you should document the damage with photos as well as the road damage. If the road damage is severe, the police should be notified to ensure public safety - generally at the municipality or the district.
