Periodical inspections of escalators and moving walkways are of particular importance since they serve the general public in areas with heavy traffic. It should be noted that due to the nature of their operation, accidents occur more often in escalators than in conventional lifts.

Inspection by an Accredited Body ensures that the escalators & walkways conform objectively to the European safety specifications during installation and at regular time intervals.

• Design approval and selection of equipment based on intended use
• Inspection during construction (project supervision)
• Inspections after significant modifications and expert evaluations

TUV HELLAS is an Accredited Inspection Body by the National Accreditation Council (ESYD) to perform inspections of escalators and walkways according to European standard EN 115-1. TUV HELLAS in the last years has shown considerable experience in escalators & moving walkways, having inspected equipment in big projects such as International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", new Railway Station of Athens, "424" Military Hospital /Thessaloniki, New Larnaca Airport, shopping centres and cruise ships.
