Welding is a key technological process in the production of machinery and equipment for the energy, transportation, construction, chemical industries, and more.

In EU regulatory documents, welding and brazing are defined as “special” processes, as the results of final product testing, due to the limitations of existing methods, do not fully reflect the achieved quality. Undetected defects in welded or brazed joints forming part of a structure may be inherent to these technological processes or originate during production. Such defects may only become apparent after the equipment has been put into service.
Therefore, the safety of welded and brazed structures can be ensured only through the strict implementation of an organized system of rules and measures. At every stage of production and product testing, this system effectively influences the factors that determine quality.
