Conducting SEDEX/SMETA Audits

SMETA is an audit methodology that helps organizations understand standards for labor, health and safety, environmental performance, and business ethics within their own operations or at supplier sites. This audit is used to monitor suppliers within the supply chain. However, any customer registered on the SEDEX platform can commission such an audit for themselves or for their supplier.

To prepare for such an audit, companies should become familiar with the ETI Base Code. The ETI Base Code is based on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and is an internationally recognized code of good labor practice. It is considered a global reference ethical code and is widely used as a benchmark for conducting social audits and developing action plans for ethical trade.

SEDEX is a global platform for registering and reporting SMETA audits, where audit reports are published and made accessible to registered business partners.

Prior to the audit, the client receives a pre-audit pack from the certification body, which explains in detail the methodology and steps of the SMETA audit, as well as useful documents related to the implementation of ethical working principles.

Conducting amfori BSCI Audits

Amfori BSCI provides a Code of Conduct with a set of values and principles that help amfori members improve their own policies and practices.

Examples include updating purchasing contracts to conduct responsible business and implementing supplier control. These principles apply across all sectors worldwide and are aligned with international regulations (e.g., the International Labour Organization, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights).

Amfori BSCI provides a platform for planning, conducting, and reporting social audits in accordance with the requirements of the amfori Code of Conduct. This code is a system of requirements based on ILO conventions and the UN Guiding Principles.

Amfori audits are used by major European and global brands to assess suppliers in terms of sustainability and responsible business practices. For these audits, it is mandatory that the audit is pre-registered on the amfori platform by the business partner for whom the audit is conducted.

Conducting FSSC 24000 Audits

Since the beginning of 2024, our company has been accredited to conduct audits according to the latest social standard – FSSC 24000. This is a social management system scheme designed to help organizations in the consumer goods industry and related supply chains meet requirements for social sustainability and performance.

The FSSC 24000 scheme is recognized by SSCI, approved under the IAF MLA scope, and listed in the ITC Standards Map. It can be applied in the manufacturing and processing sectors (food and non-food), as defined in IAF ID 1, Annex – Accreditation Scope Models for EMS and QMS.

This standard supports companies in preparing ESG reporting, in line with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). After a successful audit, companies receive an internationally recognized certificate valid for three years.
