Sustainability and social standards
UTZ is a worldwide certification program and label for the production, trade and processing of coffee, cocoa, hazelnuts, herbals and tea.
The mission of UTZ is to stimulate sustainable farming where farmers implement good agricultural practices and manage their farms profitably with respect for people and planet, where industry invests in sustainable production and rewards, and consumers can enjoy and trust the products they buy.
The core documents of the UTZ certification program are:
- the UTZ Code of Conduct is an internationally recognized set of criteria for economic, social and environmentally responsible agricultural production.
- the UTZ Chain of Custody is a set of administrative and technical rules designed to provide high level of confidence that the UTZ certified product originates from or relates to an UTZ source.
- the UTZ Certification Protocol explains the structure and process of certification according to the UTZ Code of Conduct and Chain of Custody. It describes the procedures to be followed by the actors in the supply chain in order to obtain and maintain certification against the Code of Conduct and/or Chain of Custody.
TÜV NORD INTEGRA is approved by UTZ since 2009. We offer UTZ Code of Conduct and Chain of Custody audits.
