Food Safety

ISO 22000 is an international certification system targeted at food safety and is in that respect a combination of the ISO 9001 standard and the food safety aspects of the BRC, IFS and HACCP systems. However, ISO 22000 is more comprehensive than the other 3 systems and applies to all links in the food chain. Because it is an ISO standard, the requirements are somewhat less clear and are less specific than for the BRC and IFS systems. This standard is not accepted by GFSI, hence, most retailers do not accept this standard.
