The Global Markets Programme focuses on food safety and hygiene in the food-processing industry. This standard is only applicable to products that are processed or prepared on the actual site where the audit takes place, and also covers the storage areas which are under the control of the production site management.
This standard includes clauses at 2 levels (basic and intermediate) which are similar to the clauses in the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety. Once certified for Global Markets Programme, it is possible, if preferred, to progress further towards certification for BRC Food.
