The BRC Global Markets Standard focuses on food safety and hygiene in the food-processing industry. This standard is only applicable to products that are processed or prepared on the actual site where the audit takes place, and also covers the storage areas which are under the control of the production site management.
This standard includes clauses at 2 levels (basic and intermediate) which are similar to the clauses in the BRC Food standard. Once certified for BRC Global Markets, it is possible, if preferred, to progress further towards certification for BRC Food.
