§70 Course for drivers with alcohol-related problems (Ü1)
LEER: The course for drivers with alcohol-related problems following a medical-psychological assessment (Ü2)
Our LEER course for drivers with alcohol-related problems is directed at those who have already undergone a medical-psychological assessment (MPU) because of an alcohol-related driving offence and who were then recommended to attend a course (§70 course according to the German Driving Licence Ordinance - FeV). Following the completion of a LEER course, there are no more obstacles between you and your driving licence.
Aims of the course
During the course, you will consider your own personal background and motives for alcohol consumption in depth together with others, in a small group under the guidance of an experienced traffic psychologist. From this you will develop positive alternative modes of behaviour and sustainable strategies in order to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol in future.
Form of the course
The LEER course covers a total of 14 hours divided into 4 sessions of three and a half hours each. Instead of simply being taught from the front of the class, you can expect practical exercises and interesting discussions.
After the last session you will receive a certificate of attendance; there is no final examination and no further test. The prerequisite for a certificate of attendance from LEER is active participation in all sessions, free from alcohol.
You then present the certificate of attendance to your driving licence authority. Your driving licence will be returned to you without a repeat MPU, or you can take a driving test.
Around one year after attending the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a final exchange of experience.
