Probation period: Driver license

Special NAFAPLUS development seminar

If problems occur with drugs or alcohol during the probationary driving period, a special development seminar for beginner drivers is often required (Ü2)

If drugs or alcohol are a problem during the probationary driving period, the driving licence authority often imposes attendance at a special development seminar, in order that the driving licence may be retained or reinstated (in accordance with §36 of the German Driving Licence Ordinance - FeV). This particular development seminar for beginner drivers based on problems with drugs or alcohol in the probationary period can only be held by specially accredited traffic psychologists – not at a driving school.

Special development seminar for beginner drivers at Nord-Kurs

Nord-Kurs is the right place to go if you had problems with drugs or alcohol during your first months of driving: our special development seminar for beginner drivers is called NAFAPLUS and is recognised by the relevant authorities.

During NAFAPLUS, with the support of an experienced guide, you will learn to recognise the causes of your inappropriate behaviour; the aim is to develop strategies in order to avoid further traffic offences. In three sessions of three hours each, you will learn about the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving ability and you will develop rules for appropriate driving behaviour.

As early as two to three weeks after the start of the course, if you have attended all the sessions, you will receive your certificate of attendance. Our special NAFAPLUS development seminar does not require you to undergo a final examination.

Dates and registration

If you would like to know when a special development seminar for beginner drivers will next be available near you in connection with drugs or alcohol during the probationary driving period, please give us a call (our contact number is at the top right of the page).

Tip

In certain individual cases, the driving licence authority may require or recommend attendance at a special development seminar even without the themes of drugs or alcohol during the probationary period (e.g. if two repeated (individually not so serious) traffic offences involving alcohol or drugs are committed) or in order to reduce the number of penalty points registered by licence authority (§43 FeV).
