In order to ensure that companies can operated cost-effectively, they must treat water for various purposes, such as drinking water, boiler water, cooling water, process water, or steam. Thanks to the interdisciplinary support of our laboratories in the TÜV NORD Group, the Institute for Chemistry and Environmental Protection and the Institute for Materials Testing can also examine complex, analytical and technical measurement issues.
Which services do we offer?
- Depending on the intended use, we help ensure that no deposits or sediments build up and also hinder corrosion processes from developing in water-conducting systems. We monitor the microbiological condition in order to prevent bacterial contamination (contamination with pathogens, e.g. Legionella), depending on the water use.
- We regularly inspect the function of wastewater treatment systems to ensure that, if necessary, they are retrofitted if the requirements for the direct or indirect discharge of cleaned wastewater are not satisfied.
- If problems occur with the treatment of water, or the water/steam cycle, or there is damage due to corrosion or deposits, we identify the cause(s) and develop proposals for improving system operation. Water from the aforementioned systems should be inspected regularly from an independent side and the function of water-conducting systems should also be tested.

Which standards and statutory regulations form the basis of our work?
In the aforementioned areas, there a wide variety of specific regulations (e.g. DIN EN, TRD, VdTÜV, AGFW, VDI, and the Wastewater Ordinance) that are applied in their respective relevant version.
